Method

  • Divided into "Survey on Public Transportation Operation and Access Status," "Public Transportation Transfer Status and Satisfaction Survey," "Survey on the Minimal Service Level of Public Transportation," and "Survey Among Providers of Public Transportation and Stats Related to Public Transportation"
  • Results are also divided into the following according to the purpose and subject of each survey: Public Transportation User, Public Transportation Facilities and Mode, Public Transportation Operators, and Public Transportation Stat
Method
Field Details
PuT User Survey on Public Transportation Operation and Access Status
  • Raw traffic card data are collected on weekday, weekend, rainy day, and snowy day through the comprehensive traffic card big data system encompassing local governments with a corresponding system.
  • Route/Station information and route operation history are collected from local governments with BIS/BMS.
  • Observational survey is conducted on a single day – weekday (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and weekends -- including times of departure and arrival and number of on-board passengers and disembarking passengers.
Public Transportation Transfer Status
and Satisfaction Survey
  • Basically conduct an online survey among regional public transportation users through online system as well as in-person interviews for local governments (rural area) without sufficient respondents for the online survey.
PuT Facilities/Mode Survey on the Minimal Service Level of Public Transportation
  • Collect basic data such as station location and route information.
  • Determine places with poor service areas (blind spots/vulnerable areas) based on service coverage and number and hours of operations.
  • Establish measures to improve poor service areas.
PuT provider and stats Survey Among Providers of Public Transportation and Stats Related to Public Transportation
  • Collect data from submittals from providers and stat literature review.
  • "Submittals from providers" mean the structured data input forms filled out on the system by the local government, bus and city rail/subway operator, and terminal operators.
  • "Stat literature review" involves collecting data from authoritative organizations such as the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport and Korea Research Institute of Transportation Industries and reviewing data from diverse social and economic indices and stats from different organizations.
